Websley Etienne is a versatile and instinctive defensive back entering his junior season at FIU after transferring in from Arkansas State. A South Florida native with a reputation for smart, physical play, Etienne brings experience, athleticism, and depth to the Panthers’ secondary.

In 2023, Etienne appeared in 12 games for the Red Wolves and recorded 10 tackles, including a career-high five stops against Oklahoma. He capped off the season with a strong showing in the Camellia Bowl, where he added two tackles against Northern Illinois. His ability to read plays and contribute in both coverage and run support made him a valuable asset throughout the year.
Etienne redshirted in 2022 after seeing action in four games as a true freshman, gaining valuable reps while adjusting to the college level.

A graduate of Western High School in Davie, Florida, Etienne was a standout defender and four-year varsity letterman. He totaled 168 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 25 pass breakups over his high school career. His performance earned him consensus three-star ratings from ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports, and he drew offers from a wide range of programs including Kentucky, Ole Miss, Syracuse, and North Carolina.

Now back in his home state, Etienne looks to make his mark at FIU. With his length, ball skills, and experience, he’s poised to step into a key role in the Panthers' defense this season.
