Keyone Jenkins, a sophomore quarterback for the FIU Panthers, has made significant strides since joining the team in 2023. Standing at 6 feet and weighing 195 pounds, the Miami, Florida native and Miami Central High School alumnus has demonstrated exceptional talent and leadership on the field.
In his freshman season, Jenkins started the final 11 games, becoming the first true freshman to start at quarterback for FIU since 2014. He amassed 2,414 passing yards, ranking sixth among FBS freshmen, and threw 11 touchdown passes. Additionally, he showcased his versatility by rushing for six touchdowns, setting a new program record for rushing touchdowns by a freshman quarterback.
Jenkins' outstanding performance earned him a spot on the 2023 All-CUSA Freshman Team. In recognition of his potential, he was named to the 2024 All-CUSA Preseason Fourth Team by both Athlon and Phil Steele.
Notably, Jenkins was selected as the Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on December 2, 2024, after completing 19-of-27 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over Middle Tennessee.
Jenkins continues to be a pivotal player for the Panthers, leading the offense with skill and determination.
