Dallas Payne is a senior tight end at FIU who brings experience, toughness, and steady production to the Panthers’ offense. A transfer from UAB, Payne arrives in Miami after three seasons of steady development and contribution in the Blazers’ passing attack.

In 2023, Payne appeared in all 12 games and made one start, hauling in 18 catches for 190 yards at an average of 10.6 yards per reception. He posted a season-best performance at Navy, recording five catches for 41 yards. Prior to that, he played in four games during the 2022 season and caught three passes for 20 yards.

Payne earned all-conference recognition in 2021 and began establishing himself as a reliable option at tight end. Throughout his time at UAB, he showcased his ability to create mismatches with his 6-foot-4, 245-pound frame and his willingness to block in the run game.

A native of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, Payne starred at St. Stanislaus High School, where he led the entire state in receptions and receiving yards as a senior, finishing with 89 catches for 1,286 yards. His performance made him one of the most productive high school receivers in Mississippi and set the stage for a successful college career.

Now at FIU, Payne is looking to finish strong. With his size, experience, and football IQ, he’s expected to play a key role in the Panthers' offense in 2025.
