Jeremy Ballard is the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at FIU, leading the Panthers with an intense focus on excellence, player development, and building a competitive program. Ballard was named head coach on April 20, 2018, and has since worked to elevate FIU Men’s Basketball through his innovative strategies, strong recruiting efforts, and a commitment to a fast-paced, high-energy style of play.
 
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ballard played collegiate basketball at Colgate University, where he earned his degree in 2003. His coaching career has taken him to some of the most respected programs in the country, serving as an assistant coach at VCU, Pittsburgh, Illinois State, and Tulsa. During his time as an assistant, Ballard contributed to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and was instrumental in player development and defensive schemes.
At FIU, Ballard has worked tirelessly to transform the Panthers into a competitive force in Conference USA. Known for his ability to develop talent, his teams are characterized by relentless effort on both ends of the court and a culture that values teamwork, discipline, and hard work. Under Ballard's leadership, FIU has set numerous program records and achieved new milestones, including appearances in postseason tournaments.
 
Dedicated to the success of his student-athletes both on and off the court, Ballard emphasizes academic achievement, personal growth, and preparing his players for life beyond basketball. His leadership has left an indelible mark on the program, and he continues to push FIU Basketball to greater heights.
